Florida faces an emerging talent gap and growing need for a highly skilled workforce. Talent has emerged as requisite for any state to compete in today’s global and innovation-based economy. A critical mass of educated workers is a powerful lure for businesses and directly related to higher incomes, vibrant communities, and improved quality of life for all Floridians.

Palm Beach County becomes the third community in Florida and the first urban area to be designated a Six Pillars Community. Local leaders are coming together to try and boost the Palm Beach County economy by tying it to future trends including talent, economic structuring, civic, competitiveness and other major factors that play a role in economic growth.

Crime fighting partners, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and State Attorney Michael McAuliffe, will discuss how their two departments collaborate to make Palm Beach County a safer place to live and work.

The State Attorney has dedicated prosecutors assigned to areas of concern such as gang violence, pill mills and special victims. Sheriff Bradshaw was recently appointed chairman of the Regional Domestic Security Task Force for Region 7, which covers Martin County to Key West (Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties). This task force oversees all Homeland Security for the region.
